Founded in Pisa in 1968 to study the pathophysiology of the cardiovascular system and related organs, the Institute of Clinical Physiology has become a pioneer of the process of “translation” of physiological observations and measurements at molecular and cellular levels towards knowledge, new therapies, guidelines, with positive consequences on the clinical practice and citizens’ health. The staff, accounting for more than 500 employees, includes a multidisciplinary team working on a wide variety of scientific fields, including medicine, biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science, psychology, statistics, etc.

Role of National Research Council - Institute of Clinical Physiology in the project INGENE 2.0
The Institute of Clinical Physiology is the scientific and administrative coordinator. IFC also implements the ICT platform for the aggregation of personal, genetic and instrumental data collected by means of the technological solutions developed by the InGene partnership.
